SafeGunLock is a professional-grade, mechanical firearm security device designed around the operational reality of a duty weapon. Fast release. Solid steel. No batteries. No electronics. Compatible with the duty platforms your officers carry today.
Request a Department SampleTamper-resistant solid steel construction blocks unauthorized use, even if the firearm is taken.
The lock leaves the firearm ready to operate the moment it is released. Authorized access takes seconds.
A standardized, enforceable answer to off-duty storage, vehicle transitions, and chain-of-custody policy.
Most firearm locks on the market were designed for retail display or recreational storage and then sold sideways to law enforcement. SafeGunLock was designed the other way around. The starting point was a sworn officer carrying a duty weapon home, through a vehicle, into a residence, and back on shift the next morning. Everything about the product is built for that path.
That means a mechanical release with no batteries to die and no electronics to fail in the field. It means a tamper-resistant solid steel body that holds up to handling, vehicle transitions, and real-world conditions. It means compatibility with optic-ready slides and weapon-mounted lights so officers do not have to strip down their setup to use it. And it means a release sequence officers can perform by feel, in the dark, in under five seconds, with the firearm ready to operate the instant the lock comes off.
SafeGunLock for handguns is engineered to fit modern duty platforms, including:

"In my years at ATF, I saw firsthand what happens when secure storage is treated as an afterthought. SafeGunLock was designed to eliminate that problem. It is fast to release, mechanically sound, tamper-resistant, and leaves the firearm ready to operate. It is exactly what sworn personnel need."

Will SafeGunLock fit our current duty platforms?
SafeGunLock fits the most common modern service pistols, including Glock 17, Glock 19, SIG Sauer P320, Smith and Wesson M&P, and other 9mm and .40 caliber semi-automatic platforms. The spacer system accommodates barrel lengths from 2.7 inches through 4.5 inches, and the lock is compatible with optic-ready slides and weapon-mounted lights. When you request a sample we confirm compatibility with your specific service weapon before shipping.
How fast is the release?
Under five seconds for handgun models. Under three seconds for the AR-15 platform. Lever positions can be felt by touch, including in zero-light conditions.
What happens if an officer forgets the combination?
The combination is set per unit and recoverable through SafeGunLock. We can walk a department through code management as part of onboarding.
Can a round remain in the chamber while the lock is engaged?
No. The lock occupies the chamber to block firing. The firearm is rendered temporarily inoperable while the lock is in place and returns to ready-to-operate the moment it is released.
Is the firearm damaged by the lock?
No. SafeGunLock is engineered to seat in the barrel and chamber without damaging the firearm.
How long does department onboarding take?
Most departments evaluate a sample within one to two weeks, then move directly to a bulk order. Steve Zaleznick handles agency engagements personally, including caliber and platform confirmation, volume pricing, and shipping coordination to a single department location.
Can we standardize across multiple sub-units or specialized teams?
Yes. SafeGunLock is the same mechanical design across every unit, with a sizing system that accommodates the platforms most agencies carry. AR-15 platform locks extend the same standard to long guns.
